2027 Ford F-150 vs. 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500: What the F-150 Brings to El Paso
In El Paso, the two best-known full-size trucks are the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. CarEdge's October 2026 rankings put the Silverado fifth among all new vehicles sold in El Paso over the prior 45 days (142 sold) and the F-150 seventh (122 sold), with the GMC Sierra ninth. Nationally, Ford says the F-Series has been America's best-selling truck for 49 consecutive years, with 828,832 sold in 2025.
Both trucks are updated for 2027. Ford has refreshed the F-150 with a new base engine, more V8 availability and hands-free towing, and Chevrolet has redesigned the Silverado 1500. This page looks at what the F-150 offers that matters in El Paso: payload, hybrid power, a built-in generator and Raptor performance. We don't list prices here. What are El Paso truck shoppers choosing?
El Paso is a big truck market. CarEdge's October 2026 data lists the Silverado 1500, F-150 and Sierra 1500 among the top ten new vehicles sold in the city, with the Silverado at 142 sold, the F-150 at 122 and the Sierra at 110. The F-150 sales were about flat from the period before. We also see what shoppers here look for on our own inventory search: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a rearview camera, a sunroof, keyless ignition and a heated steering wheel.
Here is how the 2027 F-150 lines up with that list, and it's backed by a truck with a long track record:
- Phone connection: SYNC 4 supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, per Ford's 2026 equipment lists.
- Rearview camera: standard on every new F-150, with available 360-degree camera views on higher trims.
- Sunroof: a panoramic roof is available on upper trims.
- Keyless entry and start: available Intelligent Access with push-button start.
- Heated steering wheel and seats: available on upper trims, along with ventilated front seats.

What is BlueCruise with Towing?
New for 2027, BlueCruise with Towing lets a properly equipped F-150 drive hands-free while towing a trailer of up to 10,000 lb, with the driver's eyes on the road, on more than 130,000 miles of mapped divided highways, according to Ford. It is available on every BlueCruise-equipped F-150, from the XLT through the Platinum. BlueCruise requires a plan after a 90-day trial, and Ford offers plan options, including a one-time purchase.
BlueCruise works only on compatible roads, can disengage in unsafe conditions such as excessive trailer sway, and does not replace attentive driving. Chevrolet's Super Cruise also offers trailering capability on equipped trucks. Check each maker's map for the roads you drive.
What about off-road driving in the desert?
The F-150 Tremor is Ford's factory off-road truck, and the Raptor takes it further with 450 horsepower and adaptive Fox shocks. At the top, the Raptor R adds a supercharged 5.2L V8 with 720 horsepower. For 2027, Ford is adding lower-cost Tremor and Raptor configurations to bring those trucks within reach of more shoppers. The FX4 off-road package is also available on other 4x4 trims.
